Ingredients

For One Margarita

  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur (such as triple sec)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1–2 teaspoons simple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Ice cubes

  • Lime wedge
  • Salt or sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass
    Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into salt or sugar.
  2. Muddle the blackberries
    In a cocktail shaker, mash the blackberries until juicy.
  3. Add ingredients
    Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, sweetener (if using), and ice.
  4. Shake well
    Shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds until chilled.
  5. Strain and serve
    Strain into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish

Frozen Version

Blend all ingredients with 1 cup of ice until smooth and slushy.
