Ingredients

  • 24 large fresh strawberries, washed and completely dry
  • 12 ounces (340g) white chocolate, chopped or white candy melts
  • ¼ cup blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles
  • Parchment paper

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Baking tray or plate
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry. Any moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking properly.

Step 2: Melt the Chocolate

Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler over low heat.

Step 3: Dip the Strawberries

Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip about two-thirds of it into the melted white chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.

Step 4: Decorate

Immediately dip the bottom third of the chocolate-coated strawberry into the blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles, leaving the top portion white to create a red, white, and blue design.

Place each decorated strawberry on a parchment-lined tray.

Step 5: Chill

Refrigerate the strawberries for 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely set.

Step 6: Serve

Arrange the strawberries on a serving platter and enjoy chilled.

Tips for Success

  • Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping.
  • Use high-quality white chocolate for the smoothest finish.
  • Work quickly before the chocolate begins to harden.
  • Chill only until the chocolate is set to keep the strawberries fresh and juicy.
  • Decorate immediately after dipping so the sprinkles adhere well.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these festive strawberries with:

  • Fresh blueberries and raspberries
  • Whipped cream
  • Fruit platters
  • Cheesecake
  • Ice cream
  • Lemonade or sparkling drinks

Storage

Store the strawberries in a single layer in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For the best flavor and texture, enjoy them within 24 hours. Do not freeze, as the strawberries will become watery when thawed.
