Ingredients
- 24 large fresh strawberries, washed and completely dry
- 12 ounces (340g) white chocolate, chopped or white candy melts
- ¼ cup blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles
- Parchment paper
Equipment
- Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
- Spoon or spatula
- Baking tray or plate
- Parchment paper
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry. Any moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking properly.
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate
Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler over low heat.
Step 3: Dip the Strawberries
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip about two-thirds of it into the melted white chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
Step 4: Decorate
Immediately dip the bottom third of the chocolate-coated strawberry into the blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles, leaving the top portion white to create a red, white, and blue design.
Place each decorated strawberry on a parchment-lined tray.
Step 5: Chill
Refrigerate the strawberries for 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely set.
Step 6: Serve
Arrange the strawberries on a serving platter and enjoy chilled.
Tips for Success
- Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping.
- Use high-quality white chocolate for the smoothest finish.
- Work quickly before the chocolate begins to harden.
- Chill only until the chocolate is set to keep the strawberries fresh and juicy.
- Decorate immediately after dipping so the sprinkles adhere well.
