Ingredients

For the Peach Filling

  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

For the Topping

  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted

Optional Toppings

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Caramel sauce
  • Chopped pecans
  • Fresh peach slices

Equipment Needed

  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Prepare the Peach Layer

Pour both cans of peaches, including the syrup, into the prepared baking dish.

Add:

  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg (if using)

Stir gently to combine.

Spread the peaches into an even layer.

Step 3: Add the Cake Mix

Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the peaches.

Do not stir.

Make sure the entire peach mixture is covered.

Step 4: Add the Butter

Slowly drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.

Try to cover as much of the dry mix as possible.

This helps create a crisp, golden topping.

Step 5: Bake

Place the dish in the oven.

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.

The topping should be crisp and lightly browned.

Step 6: Cool Slightly

Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool for about 10–15 minutes.

This helps the filling thicken slightly.

Step 7: Serve

Spoon the warm Peach Dump Cake into bowls.

Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Serve warm and enjoy.
