Instructions
Step 1: Make the Oreo Crust
Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form.
Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl.
Add the melted butter and stir until evenly combined.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch tart pan.
Use the bottom of a measuring cup to create an even layer.
Place the crust in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Step 2: Prepare the Blackberry Purée
In a saucepan, combine:
- 2 cups blackberries
- Granulated sugar
- Lemon juice
Cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes until the berries soften and release their juices.
Mash gently while cooking.
Remove from the heat.
Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove seeds.
Allow the purée to cool completely.
You should have approximately 1 cup of smooth blackberry purée.
Step 3: Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Add:
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
Continue beating until fully incorporated.
Gradually mix in the cooled blackberry purée.
Beat until smooth and evenly colored.
Step 4: Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
The whipped cream should hold its shape when the beaters are lifted.
Step 5: Fold Everything Together
Gently fold the whipped cream into the blackberry cream cheese mixture.
Use a spatula and fold carefully to maintain as much air as possible.
The filling should be light, fluffy, and beautifully purple.
Step 6: Fill the Tart
Remove the chilled crust from the refrigerator.
Spread the blackberry filling evenly into the crust.
Smooth the top with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Step 7: Prepare the Blackberry Glaze
In a small saucepan, heat:
- Blackberry jam
- Water
Stir until smooth.
Allow to cool slightly.
Step 8: Decorate the Tart
Arrange the fresh blackberries over the top of the tart.
Brush lightly with the blackberry glaze to create a glossy finish.
Add whipped cream swirls, chocolate shavings, or mint leaves if desired.
Step 9: Chill Again
Return the tart to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the glaze to set.
Step 10: Serve
Carefully remove the tart from the pan.
Slice with a sharp knife, wiping the blade between cuts for clean slices.
Serve chilled.
