Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce lychee juice (from canned lychees or bottled lychee juice)
  • ½ ounce dry vermouth (optional for a classic martini flavor)
  • ½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ¼ ounce simple syrup (optional, depending on sweetness of the lychee juice)
  • Ice cubes
  • 2–3 whole peeled lychees for garnish

Optional Garnishes

  • Lime twist
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Edible flowers
  • Cocktail pick

Equipment Needed

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Martini glass
  • Strainer
  • Cocktail pick

Instructions

Step 1: Chill the Glass

Place a martini glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes before making the cocktail. A chilled glass helps keep your drink cold and enhances the presentation.

Step 2: Fill the Shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.

Step 3: Add the Ingredients

Pour into the shaker:

  • Vodka
  • Lychee juice
  • Dry vermouth
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Simple syrup (if using)

Step 4: Shake Well

Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the shaker becomes frosty on the outside. This chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail for the perfect balance.

Step 5: Strain

Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using a fine strainer for a silky-smooth finish.

Step 6: Garnish

Thread two or three whole lychees onto a cocktail pick and place them across the rim of the glass or drop one into the cocktail. Add a lime twist or edible flower for an elegant touch if desired.

Step 7: Serve

Serve immediately while ice cold.

Tips for the Best Lychee Martini

  • Use premium vodka for the smoothest flavor.
  • Fresh canned lychees packed in syrup provide the most authentic taste.
  • Chill both your shaker and martini glass for an extra-refreshing cocktail.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup depending on your lychee juice.
  • Shake vigorously to achieve a perfectly chilled, slightly frothy drink.
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice adds brightness and balances the sweetness.
  • For a cleaner martini flavor, reduce or omit the simple syrup.
  • Always strain well to keep ice chips out of the finished cocktail.
