Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, drumsticks, or breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix barbecue sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the chicken thoroughly with the sauce mixture.
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Grill over medium heat for 6–8 minutes per side, brushing with extra sauce while cooking.

Oven Method

  • Bake at 220°C (425°F) for 35–45 minutes, brushing with sauce halfway through.

Tips

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
  • Avoid very high heat—the sugar can burn quickly.
