Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 lb (450 g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
For the Sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
For the Ramen
- 2 packs ramen noodles (seasoning packets discarded)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In another bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, broth, and chili flakes.
Step 3: Cook the Noodles
Boil the ramen noodles according to package instructions until just tender. Drain and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Beef
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan.
Step 5: Sauté the Vegetables
In the same pan, cook the onion, broccoli, and bell pepper for about 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.
Step 6: Combine Everything
Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened slightly. Add the cooked ramen noodles and toss everything together until coated.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds on top. Serve hot.
