Servings: 1 cocktail
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 oz (60 ml) blanco tequila
- 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
- 4–6 oz (120–180 ml) chilled sparkling mineral water (preferably Topo Chico)
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedge or wheel, for garnish
- Coarse salt (optional, for rimming the glass)
Equipment
- Highball glass
- Citrus juicer
- Jigger or measuring cup
- Bar spoon
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Glass
If desired, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip it into coarse salt. Fill the glass completely with ice cubes.
Step 2: Add the Tequila
Pour the blanco tequila over the ice.
Step 3: Add Fresh Lime Juice
Squeeze fresh lime juice into the glass. Fresh juice provides the brightest flavor.
Step 4: Top with Sparkling Water
Slowly pour in the chilled sparkling mineral water, leaving a little room at the top. Stir gently once or twice to combine without losing too much carbonation.
Step 5: Garnish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately while cold and bubbly.
