Ingredients

For the Lemonade

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5–6 lemons)
  • ½ cup honey, or more to taste
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh strawberry slices
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Extra ice
  • Sparkling water (for serving)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries

Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Place them in a blender with 1 cup of the cold water and blend until completely smooth.

For a smoother lemonade, pour the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds. This step is optional but creates a silky texture.

Step 2: Make the Honey Syrup

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey with ½ cup of water. Stir gently for 3–5 minutes, just until the honey dissolves completely. Do not boil.

Remove from the heat and allow the honey syrup to cool slightly.

Step 3: Mix the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, strawberry puree, cooled honey syrup, remaining cold water, and lemon zest if using.

Stir well until everything is thoroughly mixed.

Step 4: Chill

Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the drink to become thoroughly chilled.

Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or a little extra lemon juice if desired.

Step 5: Serve

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled strawberry lemonade over the ice.

Garnish each glass with fresh strawberry slices, lemon wheels, and mint leaves. For a sparkling version, top each serving with a splash of sparkling water just before serving.
