Ingredients

  • 4 ears fresh corn, husked
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Lime wedges, for serving (optional)

Optional Toppings

  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chili powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Crumbled cotija cheese
  • Everything bagel seasoning
  • Hot honey

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Corn

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). Remove the husks and silk from each ear of corn, then rinse and pat dry. Brush each ear lightly with olive oil to help prevent sticking and encourage even browning.

Step 2: Grill the Corn

Place the corn directly on the hot grill grates. Grill for 12–15 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes to ensure even cooking. The kernels should become bright yellow, tender, and lightly charred with golden-brown grill marks.

Step 3: Butter and Season

Transfer the grilled corn to a serving platter. Brush generously with melted butter while still hot, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped parsley.

Step 4: Serve

Serve immediately with lime wedges and any additional toppings you enjoy. The smoky flavor pairs beautifully with cheese, spices, herbs, or flavored butters.

Tips for the Best Grilled Corn

  • Choose fresh corn with bright green husks and moist, golden silk.
  • Turn the corn frequently to prevent burning.
  • For extra smoky flavor, allow a few kernels to char.
  • Brush with butter immediately after grilling so it melts into every kernel.
  • Experiment with flavored butters like garlic herb, chili lime, or honey butter.
